Qom is one of the megapolises of Iran, which is located 140 km south of Tehran, the capital of Iran. The passage of Chehel-Akhtaran and the texture around it has an area of 5 hectares. In this project, the policies of designing the historical texture of Qom are expressed, which are in three main sections, namely the spatial organization, passages, and architecture. Before talking about these sections, the general policy of the project will be discussed. The present project analyzes the role of these projects in the historical context of Qom by compiling indicators of mobility and development of urban textures out of theoretical texts and scientific experiences. Research findings show that the main factors in assessing the role of projects with development stimuli in the recreating of the central fabric of cities, including the residential status of the texture, activity status, economic status, physical renovation, government investment, tourism development and the general status of the texture. In the historical context of Qom, Emamzadeh Chehel-Akhtaran is the best place for tourism development, at the same time it has the most disorganized condition in relation to the integrated indices of mobility and development. Therefore, the most important purpose of research is to investigate the role of projects with development stimuli in reconstructing urban historical contexts in order to adapt these projects as much as possible to the characteristics of their context.
Spatial Organization
• Preserving the residential and local characteristics of the texture and control the redundant uses of the area • Revitalizing the spatial continuity between different parts of the area • Using valuable passages and strengthening the practical and visual continuity in them with the aim of creating a tourist route in the historical context of the neighborhood • Strengthening the connection of valuable points of passages to the main streets of the neighborhood • Creating and strengthening the uses required for the prosperity of the historical context of the neighborhood (using valuable, dilapidated and dilapidated, residential and public buildings with the aim of creating residential and commercial use, etc.) • Organizing the communication network and adapt it as much as possible to a hierarchical system • Organizing urban (neighborhood centers, squares, etc.) and service nodes based on a hierarchical system
Passages • Creating a hierarchical system in the passages network of the historical context of the neighborhood • Provide access to pedestrian and bicycle paths in the area as well as directing emergency vehicles correctly in case of emergency (according to the policy of texture protection)
Architecture
• Preservation of valuable residential buildings with the aim of changing the residential to habitational use • Complete protection, acquisition and change of functionality with the aim of building a project with development stimuli (workshop, production, weaving and services of handmade carpets) • Creating the necessary functionalities at the neighborhood level • Improving environmental quality • Creating an ecotourism and tourism route in the area • Reminiscing and developing the tourism industry • Employment
