The context of the project (Tehran, Argentina square) is known for its high-rise office buildings. Consequently, height differences of the old short buildings with the new tall ones, has made neutral and unelaborated high side walls in the neighborhood. These walls, out of human scale, disorders urban-scape, until they are covered by adjacent future buildings.
One of the main design challenges of the project has been to activate the mute western facade and combine it with the northern and southern facades. Designing the plan and facade, an attempt was made to create a dynamic interaction between inside and outside, by means of transparency and visual connection. By collecting a simple and minimal material palette, as well as combining the northern and southern views with a neutral western view, we have achieved a coherent cover skin amongst the scattered facades of the region’s buildings.
The sides of the main northern façade are covered with brick lattice panels to keep privacy and introversion while maintaining the connection between inside and outside. Also, the gap between those panels and windows, provides the possibility of planting. Therefore, here it seems greenery spread from inside to outside. At the same time, the terraces of middle part of the facade, allows plants to penetrate from outside to inside. This contrast gives an active quality to the building while keeping the silence and purity of the facade.
The project site has an area of 690 m2, covers 7450 m2 of built space in8 floors and 5 underground floors for parking. Each floor is dedicated to one office with an area of 410 m2. In designing the office complex plan, according to the new trend of co-work and shared workspace need all vertical access and service spaces were placed aside, so that the main space remains open, flat and flexible.
Artificial lighting design is based on the computational analysis of natural light income. By moving away from the north and south windows, the artificial light increases so that the light is evenly distributed in the space.
