گیسو حریری دربارهی این خانهی استخرِ مُدرن در ؤیلتن که از پانلهای چوبِ آیپ برای یک زوج و دو فرزند آنها، یکی 14 ساله و دیگری 12 ساله، ساخته شده، میگوید: «اولویّت کارفرما در ساخت این خانه شفّافیّتِ آن بود، چون به گفتهی خودش میخواست ‘آنسوی خانه دیده شود.’» حریری میگوید: «استخر و سازه در یکدیگر ادغام شدهاند.»
این سـازهی 111 متر مربّعی به شکل یک تندیـسِ مینیمالیستی در چشمانداز طرّاحی شده است. زمینِ بنا قسمتی از یک مِلکِ 14000 متر مربّعی در کانتیکات است. معمـاریِ این خانهی استخر در تضادّ با معماری سنّتی خانهی موجود قرار دارد، ولی با این وجود طرّاحیْ بین این دو دیالوگی برقرار کرده است.
این خانه در کنار استخری به ابـعاد 6×15 متر بسانِ قایقی بر روی آب ایستاده است. در قسمتِ شمالیْ یک سْپا و یک دوشِ داخلی/خارجی وجود دارد، و در قسمت جنوبیْ یک ناحیهی صرف غذای داخلی/خارجی طرّاحی شده که با یک گشودگیِ بزرگ روی دیوارْ چشماندازِ آنسوی خود را قاب گرفته است. ناحیهی دور استخر یک حیاطِ فرورفته است که کفپوشی از سنگ تراورتن با پلّهها و دیوارههای سنگی دارد.
فضای داخلیِ این خانهی استخر یک اتاق نشیمن/سرگرمی، ناحیهی آشپزخانه و بار، دستشویی و توالتهای ساده و چندین تراس و سکّوی مختلف را شامل میشود. یک سری پانلِ کشوییِ شیشهای و آهنیْ دورتادورِ این فضا را احاطه کردهاند که به سازه امکان شفّاف بودن و گشوده شدن به سمت بیرون را میدهند. دیواری که با کاشیـهای موزائیکی سبزرنگ پوشیده شده (هم در فضای دوشِ داخلی و هم خارجی) به قسمتی از ترکیبِ اصلیِ نما بدل شده که بدان رنگ و ظرافتی خاص بخشیده است.
چارچوبِ اصلی و سقفِ سازه از چوبِ آیپ (Ipe) [گردوی برزیـلی] است که باعث گرمشدن و تندیسگونهشدنِ فضا شده، و در عین حال احساس حضور در نزدیکی دریا را نیز القـاء میکند. کفـهای چوبیْ از درون ساختمان به سمتِ استخر گسترش یافتهاند که به سکّویی تبدیل میشوند که در فصلهای گرم میتوان روی آن نشست و پاهای خود را در آب گذاشت و لذّت بُرد.
یک آتشچالْ در قسمتِ جنوبیِ ساختمان و در انتهای تراسْ فضایی صمیمی به وجود آورده که میتوان در فصلهای سرد دورش جمع شد و از گپی دوستانه در این خانـهی استخرِ رؤیایی لذّت بُـرد.

This 1200 square feet structure was designed as a minimalist sculpture in the landscape.
It is part of a 3.5 Acre property in Connecticut. The architecture of this pool house is in
contrast to the traditional architecture of the existing house yet the design sets up a
dialogue between the two.
The architecture of the pool house hovers over a 48’x20’ pool like a vessel in the water.
On the North there is a spa and an outdoor/indoor shower, and on the south there is a
roofed veranda acting as an indoor/outdoor dinning area with a large opening on the wall
framing the landscape beyond. The area around the pool becomes a sunken courtyard
paved in travertine with steps and walls of stone.
The interior of this pool house contains a living/entertainment room, kitchen &bar area,
simple bathroom and variety of terraces and decks. It is enclosed by series of metal and
glass sliding panels that would allow the structure to be transparent and open up towards
outside. A wall of green mosaic tiles cover the wet areas (both inside and out side
showers) and becomes part of the main composition of the facade bringing color and
tactility to the place.
The main frame and the ceiling of the structure are in Ipe wood (Brazilian Walnut) and
make the place warm, nautical and sculptural at the same time. The wood floors stretch
out from the interior hovering over the pool and becoming a deck for reflecting and
simply sitting around and putting your toes in the water.
A fire pit on the south side of the structure creates an intimate space on the end of the
terrace for gathering around in the cold, making marshmallows and enjoying the place.
