– در سال ۱۳۶۹ دفتر طراحی رضا عابدینی را در تهران تاسیس کرد. در سال ۱۳۸۸ استودیو اورینتیشن را در هلند راه اندازی کرد.

او به‌عنوان اولین طراح ایرانی در کتاب تاریخ طراحی گرافیک مِگز  (Meggs History Graphic Design) معرفی شده است. در سال ۱۳۸۵ (۲۰۰۶) جایزه طراحی پرنس‌کلاوس که هر سال به هدف توسعه‌ فرهنگ به هنرمندان اعطا می‌شود را دریافت کرد و نمایشگاه آثار او نیز در ۱۱ سپتامبر همان سال در آمستردام گشایش یافت.

بخشی از نمایشگاه‌ها داخلی و جوایز خارجی: خانه هنرمندان ایران، گالری آب انبار، تهران، گالری آناتوم، پاریس، کالری ایفا، اشتوتگارت، پلتفرم ۲۱، آمستردام، جشنواره بیت الدین، بیروت … آثار او در کلکسیون هایی مانند موزه هنرهای تزیینی پاریس، موزه اوگاکی، ژاپن موزه ویکتوریاو آلبرت نگه داری می شوند، جوایز داخلی و بین المللی متعددی دریافت کرده است از آن جمله: سیمرغ بلورین بهترین پوستر از جشنواره فیلم فجر، جایزه‌ ویژه‌ منتقدین سینمایی برای پوستر فیلم “سارا”، جایزه اول طراحی در اروپا، بینال پوستر ورشو، بینال طراحی گرافیک برنو، مسابقه پوستر شومون، فرانسه، بینال پوستر چین و … کتاب های حاشیه، فرهنگ بصری ایران، مجموعه طراحی و طراحان از جمله مجموعه های منتشر شده از آثار اوست.

رضا عابدینی در آبان‌ماه سال ۹۴ پس از چندسال دوری از میهن، با نمایشگاه “طراحی‌خط” در گالری آب‌انبار، حضور در عرصه حرفه‌ای گرافیک و هنرهای تجسمی کشور را از سر گرفت.

Reza Abedini (born Tehran 1967) lives and works between Iran, Lebanon and the Netherlands. Graduated in Graphic Design from the School of Fine Arts in 1985, and completed a BA in Painting at Tehran Art University in 1992. Since 1989 he has pursued a career as graphic designer, founding the Reza Abedini Studio in 1993 ( Iran ) Orien+ationlab 2009 (The Netherlands). Abedini has appeared in numerous exhibitions in Iran and Europe. Persiannalite, Anatome Gallery, Paris (2008); Cartacanta festival expo, Italy (2010); Beittedine Art Festival, Lebanon ( 2011 ); His work is in public collections. He has received many international awards including a Prince Claus Award in 2006, in the Netherlands; Nominate for Jameel Prize 2010, V&A Museum, London; European Design Awards 2010.

Abedini is a Designer creating work that contains many historical references such as the way in which he surrounds a single figure with empty space, which harks back to portrait painting and photographs from the Qajar period.
He emphasises the relationship between visual tradition and modern identity, encourages research in the rich history of Persian art and nurtures talent in the younger generations. His publication, ‘New Visual Culture of Modern Iran’, draws attention to developments in the field of design and highlights the work of young artists. He superb graphic design and his individual skill in adapting collective knowledge, making it new and compelling today.
His personal creativity in the production of designs, as well as for the personal manner in which he applies and redefines the knowledge and accomplishments of Iran’s artistic heritage, thus making them highly interesting.متن رضا عابدینی داور اجر
