طرح مرکز فرهنگی یزد اثر هوشنگ سیحون

در راستای طرح ایجاد مکان‌های فرهنگی در استان‌های کشور، وزارت فرهنگ و هنر در سال 1354 و در دوره‌ی مهرداد پهلبد، اولین ریاست این سازمان، مسابقه‌ای تحت عنوان “طراحی تالار فرهنگ یزد” توسط نهاد معماری آن وزارت‌خانه و به سرپرستی مهندس ادب برگزار کرد. هوشنگ سیحون با کسب رتبه‌ی اول در این مسابقه بار دیگر توانایی خود را که پیش‌تر با موفقیت پروژه‌ی الحاقات بازارچه‌ی امیر چخماق در بین سال‌های 51 و 52 در یزد همراه بود، به اثبات ‌رساند. مدت زمان طراحی این پروژه در آتلیه‌ی سیحون، سه ماه بوده و تحت مسئولیت بهزاد صالحی و با همکاری آقایان دانشمند و سامی برماسب و به ترسیم آقای نادری صورت گرفت.

As part of a national initiative to establish cultural centers across Iran’s provinces, the Ministry of Culture and Arts, in 1975, during the tenure of its first head, Mehrdad Pahlbod, organized a competition titled “Design of the Yazd Cultural Hall.” The competition was held by the ministry’s architectural department under the supervision of Engineer Adab. Houshang Seyhoun, by winning first place in this competition, once again demonstrated his architectural mastery—previously affirmed through the successful completion of the Amir Chakhmaq Bazaar extension project in Yazd between 1972 and 1973. The design phase of this project at Seyhoun’s atelier lasted three months and was carried out under the supervision of Behzad Salehi, with the collaboration of Messrs. Daneshmand and Sami Barmasb, and drawings executed by Mr. Naderi.
