Humans dedicate a significant portion of their lives to workspaces, a reality particularly evident for factory and industrial zone employees who invest a substantial amount of their time within these environments. The quality of the workspace and living environment profoundly impacts an individual’s overall well-being. Traditionally, industrial zones have presented a stark contrast to urban spaces, often lacking the vibrancy and dynamism associated with city life. Enhancing the quality of these industrial environments is paramount for improving both individual well-being and societal productivity.
Taradis Factory stands as a beacon of innovation, redefining the industrial workspace. The factory’s primary focus on producing sustainable building materials, including doors and windows and glass, contributes to reduced energy consumption, increased efficiency, and environmental stewardship. The design process was met with unique challenges. Working within the constraints of an existing structure limited the scope for structural modifications, significantly impacting the design and construction phases. Additionally, the hot and dry climate of Shokouhiyeh Industrial zone that located from 12 km to Qom city, Iran, characterized by intense strong winds, and dust storms, presented substantial obstacles. To mitigate these challenges, the factory incorporates sun shading elements to reduce solar heat gain. Careful consideration was given to window placement and design to address the region’s wind and dust conditions. The selection of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems was optimized for energy efficiency while ensuring optimal comfort conditions for employees.
Budgetary constraints were another critical factor influencing design decisions. However, prioritizing spatial quality, comfort, and tranquility, the design team creatively employed cost-effective solutions without compromising aesthetic appeal or functionality.
